Lucky Dog

My fiance is headed out to Tampa Bay tomorrow...that lucky dog is going to the SUPERBOWL!!!! I am so excited for him (and a teeny bit jealous). I am sure it will be an experience of a lifetime. I am headed home to watch the game with my fam...not quite TB, but I am looking forward to it!

Arizona Recap

So it has almost been a week since we returned from sunny Arizona, and to say that we miss the weather would be the understatement of the Year!! We had a great time cheering on the Cardinals to a NFC championship and soaking up the rays. I included some pictures to highlight the trip...mostly the game and resort where we stayed. I really enjoyed trying out the sports mode and zoom lens as you will see...

Guest List Concerns

I know that I have been MIA lately...sorry!! I plan to recap our wonderful trip to AZ this weekend...I got some great pictures of the game. I am still in shock that the cardinals are actually going to the superbowl! My fiance is going to make the trip to TB...I am very excited for him! Anyways...

I have been working on the invites. I now have them designed and am going to go have them printed very soon....but before I do that I HAVE to finalize the guest list. This leaves me pondering a few things....

1. I work in an Elementary school...because I am a PE teacher I work and interact with all grade levels. I am unsure how to do the invites. I do not want to offend anyone...but I cannot invite the entire 100 person staff. What is the correct thing to do?? I plan to invite the 10 people/couples that I interact with on a personal level...but I just hate to hurt someones feelings. I thought about putting an invitation in the lounge (it is a 2 hr drive to our ceremony location- so dont really think too many people will come), or is this tacky? Any ideas?

2. Did you ever have people that you didn't plan to invite ask if they can come? What do you do? I have been saying sure and keeping a list...do I go ahead and invite them even if I wasn't going to in the first place? How do you tell someone that they are not invited? I find this too be really akward...it is not like we are throwing a huge-dont-want-to miss-it party??

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Tomorrow morning I will get up early and leave snowy-fridgid KS for sunny Arizona! We are making a quick trip out to catch the NFC Championship game. I am really pumped...Go Cardinals! 

Introducing LolaBella Designs

I have always looked up to my cousin....here is just one more reason! She has started her own children's boutique. I am so amazed by her creativity and craftiness! And I Thought I had a bad birthday

If you look back a few posts I came down with the flu on my birthday. And while I spent the day in and out of the bathroom....I don't think it even begins to compare to the horrible birthday Jake Delhomme is having. 5 interceptions and a fumble....a play-off loss...okay he wins. I will hand over the title of worst birthday....Go Cards!

I had no idea...

Custom Framing was sooo EXPENSIVE. Chad and I have been looking for matching frames for a grouping of engagement photos. We finally resigned to the fact that we were not going to find them on the shelf, when my aunt sent me an email with this little detain attached:

60% off...now thats got to make it affordable, right??? So we proudly took our engagement photos...an 11x14, (2)8x10s, (3)5x7s, to Michael's. (side note: I heart Michaels...I cannot say enough good things about the service/supplies at our local store) After about an hour contemplating mat color and frame choices we got around to talking moo-lah. She did her thing in the computer and then stated that our grand total was $330...I politely reminded her that we had THIS handy dandy coupon (smiling)...she replys, "yep, that is with the 60% off". What? So what your saying is that to get these frames at full price it would cost nearly $700??? Who could pay full price? So we left to "discuss" the purchase....we had to decide if we were going to bit the bullet and have our timeless photos framed just the way we like, or say "for-get-a-bout-it" and continue to search for frames that would never measure up to the beautiful to the display we created. After a few panic attacks...we decided to do it. I know some of you think this is crazy....I know that it is a lot of money...that is what I kept saying when we were discussing...but we decided that these are pictures that are going to be around for a long time...we would rather pay more and have them hanging on the wall and not sitting in a box waiting for us to "find" the right frames. (It also helped that we had received a nice gift card at christmas) So we did it...I can't wait to show you how they turn out. Whew..sorry that was lengthly...if you made it through...thanks!!

Back in Action

I guess that it had to happen sometime....I am officially back to real life. School is back in session. The day was pretty uneventful...after work I got a workout, and Parmesan Chicken is on warm on the stove. I think the only thing that got me going today was knowing that One Tree Hill was going to be back in action today, too. I know it is a guilty pleasure...but I have watched since season 1 and I am obsessed....

What more could a girl ask for?

New Year- New Focus

I really do not get too excited about New Year's Eve...case in point: this year I was asleep by 10 pm. But I do love the beginning of the New Year and the fresh start... the opportunity to reflect and refocus. I have set a few resolutions for 2009:

1. Drink more WATER. I usually start my morning with coffee and that is the peak of my liquid intake. I don't drink pop...I just tend to forget to drink! So I am going to really try to drink more water in the hopes of increasing my energy level and my ability to gain lean muscle mass.

2. RECYCLE. Have you heard about the planet? I am no tree-hugger but I bought a crate for under the sink and plan to collect tin cans and glass bottles to recycle. I am also going to work very hard to remember my re-useable grocery bags when I go shopping!

3. Refocus my WORKOUTS. This means getting up by 5 to hit the gym. Staying motivated and keeping the intensity up. I really would like to add some muscle mass and get back into running and train for a race.

This semester is going to be a hectic to say the least...teaching full time, training my clients, 10 master's hours, planning the wedding...so I tried to keep the resolutions simple so that I could see some success.
