Welcome Baby Marshall

Welcome to the world Mr. Marshall Cruz!!! We are so thankful for a smooth and safe arrival of our healthy little bear.
(It was so smooth your Dad even slept through part of it!!)
When we asked Grady what day he thought you would come he said, "2". We thought he was way off, but he was way close. We tried hard to get you here before midnight, but I guess you didn't want to share your day with the groundhogs.

We had a BIRTH-day party, but you couldn't have the cupcake so Grady ate it for you.

We love you Marshall and thank the Lord for you! We are so blessed to have you as our baby bear!

Baby Bear Digs

I had a lot of fun putting together another little boy nursery. I love combing pinterest for ideas and then pulling it all together. I decided to go with a woodland theme this go around. I had originally wanted to go with a mint wall color, but couldn't resist the green ikea shelf which meant I had to go a different route with the walls. My favorite part of the room is the trees that I painted, I was pretty pleased with how they turned out.

Baby Boa is a...

We had a gender reveal to announce the gender of baby #2. We had our sonogram tech. put the sex of the baby in an envelope and then we delivered it to my sister. My sister got to be the first person to find out, and then she got to stuff the pinata (that took an insane number of hours to make) with items correlating with the sex. It was a lot of fun to actually be surprised at the gender reveal this go around.

I went with a pumpkin theme, since I am nuts about fall and we found out in the Fall.

 Team Blue.
 Team Pink
We let Grady pull the strings!
 BLUE!!!

My sister loved being the first to know!!

We were so excited to be having another little guy! Cheers to brother bears!!!

Baby Boa Pregnancy

I obviously didn't document the pregnancy through posts, but I did take pictures. That counts for something, right?

Overall this pregnancy seemed tougher then my pregnancy with Grady, but I think that was just because I had Grady to chase. That being said I have been blessed to have to really great pregnancies. I experienced some nausea and heartburn, back aches and headaches and of course the FATIGUE, but it was nothing compared to what others, aka my Mom, experience(d).

When we asked Grady what he wanted to name the baby he said, "Boa Constrictor". So we are calling this babe, Baby Boa for the time being.

A big announcement (about a year late)

This comes as no surprise, but it has been a LONG time since I blogged. Life is busy, good busy. Sometimes I think I should forget about this 'ole blog, as I have never really been consistent, but for some reason I keep coming back to it, so I'm going to give it a go again.

So the biggest thing that has happened since I last blogged is this...

Yep, we announced last August that we were expecting again. We were so excited!!!

100 days of happiness

So I'm going to try this again, ya know, the whole blog thing. We will see how long it lasts. Hopefully at least the length of the 100 days of happiness challenge my sister and I are trying to complete.

Day 1:
Nothing makes me happier than this little face. Words cannot describe the joy he brings me! We spent the day hanging as a family after church. He boycotted nap time so we spent some time in the kiddy pool.

Behind Again...Day 15/16

Well, I'm behind again, so here's another two-for:

A day in my life....

Grady woke up at about 8 and we got our day started with a little yogurt and cereal.

After breakfast we read books and then headed out for a walk/jog.
Grady loves strolling in his car and he actually feel asleep while I jogged today. We got back just in time for a play date with Grammy and Hadley.
The play date involved reading, sharing a banana and some puffs, and of course some love pats from Grady to Hadley. They headed out around 11...it was past nap time. The next hour went like this:
I placed Grady in his crib and tell him it's nap time.
Grady cries.
I pick Grady up, we read a book/play, he seems tired (read fussy).
I place Grady in his crib and tell him it's nap time.
Grady cries.
I pick...you get the picture.
I think the 4th try it took.

During nap time I rested, pinned a little and read a few blogs. I try to stay very quite as to not arouse the sleeping Grady...some days I try to get things done...not today.

Grady woke up about an hour and half later, then we had a little snuggle/nap extension in my bed. After nap time it was lunch time...yes, it was 2...should I call it lun-ner?

Then to the pool...for splashing...he didn't actually get in today, and after that some bubbles.

Oh yeah, and we had a streaker...

After he was dressed we did some more reading, and attempted to hang out downstairs, until Grady somehow scaled my stair barricade...wth? End of downstairs time!
The rest of the afternoon/early evening involved more book reading and dinner making, as well as a few meltdowns from one fading little guy. Then it was dinner, book reading, and night time at 8:30...phew!

Now I think I will blog, watch TV and eat some snickerdoodle ice cream!

Day 16-
Something difficult about my lot in life.

Man, I am so blessed, it feels wrong to really complain about anything. I think I would have to say going back to work in a couple weeks is weighing heavy on my heart. Transitions have never been my strong suit, and in my heart I would really love stay home with Grady. I have to admit it is HARD to be a SAHM, like harder then being a Counselor to 450 students hard, but I still want to do it. I do love being a Counselor, and I know I will love my new job...maybe it's a grass is greener thing, but I am going to miss reading 75 books a day, and being the one he wakes up to after naps, and taking trips to the library and target, and sharing smoothies...

I can feel the sadness of returning to work creeping in, but being a SAHM isn't where The Lord wants me right now, and I am working on accept that, while making the most of my time with Grady.
